In contested environments, casualties may be held forward for hours or days, forcing medics to make critical diagnostic decisions far from the expertise and resources traditionally available at higher levels of care.
ATLAS, the AI Tactical Assessment System, uses AI-guided handheld ultrasound to rapidly assess life-threatening chest and abdominal injuries, bringing advanced diagnostic capability to the front line. The technology behind ATLAS is supported by 19 peer-reviewed publications and 8 patent families.
Over the last six months, Deep Breathe, as a NATO DIANA innovator, has worked with military end users through exercises in Canada, Estonia, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States, while also completing its first military sale. These engagements have moved ATLAS from technology development toward operational deployment.
