This really is a team effort. From the person who answers the phone, to our billing department, to our office manager — a result like this belongs to every one of them.”

FORT MYERS, FL, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Urological Supplies, Inc. (USI) has been recognized as a top-rated provider of the BD® PureWick® Urine Collection System, earning a 99.87% patient satisfaction rate across more than 1,500 patients surveyed through its accreditation with The Compliance Team. The result places USI among the highest-scoring durable medical equipment providers measured under the accreditor's patient satisfaction program.

USI serves patients using the BD® PureWick® Urine Collection System in 40+ states nationwide and has been one of the pioneers in Medicare billing for the product since the new coding was approved in 2024.

The Compliance Team is a CMS-approved, independent accreditation organization for durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) providers. Companies that meet or exceed its operational and healthcare-delivery standards earn the Exemplary Provider® designation following annual, in-person surveys. Ongoing patient satisfaction surveying is a core requirement of that accreditation.

USI's 99.87% score comes from that independent survey process, drawn from more than 1,500 verified patient responses.

“This really is a team effort,” said Larry Vetter, Vice President of USI. “From the person who answers the phone, to our billing department, to our office manager — a result like this belongs to every one of them. We're lucky to have such a talented team, people who work this hard because they understand how much this means to our patients.”

The BD® PureWick® Urine Collection System is a non-invasive solution for patients managing urinary incontinence. Unlike a traditional indwelling (Foley) catheter, it is not inserted into the body. Instead, the external catheter rests outside the body and uses low-pressure suction to draw urine away into a bedside collection container. This external design may also help reduce catheter-associated complications, including UTIs.

USI is among a select group of providers offering the BD® PureWick® Urine Collection System and works directly with Medicare to help eligible patients access coverage. Medicare may cover external urinary collection devices when medically necessary, and as a Medicare-accredited provider, USI can file and manage those claims on the patient's behalf.

Once a physician completes the required documentation, USI guides the patient through the rest: the team reviews eligibility, coordinates the physician paperwork Medicare requires to establish medical necessity, files and manages the claim, and delivers supplies to the patient's door. Ongoing support includes access to licensed medical professionals and help managing reorders.

For eligible patients, Medicare covers the BD® PureWick® Urine Collection System at 80% under Part B, and many secondary plans pick up the remaining 20%.

“Some DME providers don't send out surveys because they're worried about the scores that come back,” Vetter said. “We send them because we want to learn, so we can keep getting better. And as happy as I am about this number, I keep thinking about the two patients who told us we fell short — and what we could have done differently. That's how we move from 99.87% to 100%. In healthcare, patients deserve perfect.”

Any practitioner who treats the patient can order the BD® PureWick® Urine Collection System — most often a primary care physician, urologist, gynecologist, or geriatrician. Under Medicare's rules, non-physician practitioners such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants can write the order as well. USI works with whichever provider knows the patient's history best to complete the documentation Medicare requires.
