Auxilius Launches Atlas Trial Planning Suite, Bringing Study Budgeting Upstream of Trial Execution

New suite delivers defensible study budgets in minutes for finance and clinical operations teams during the trial planning process.

NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Auxilius, a provider of clinical trial financial management software, today announced the launch of the Atlas Trial Planning Suite, extending its platform earlier into a trial's life to cover the budgeting and benchmarking that happens before a study starts.

For over 20 years, the default way to plan a trial has been Oracle ClearTrial, a planning architecture built in 2004 for clinical operations — detailed, procedure-level costing to support RFPs and CRO negotiations. That fidelity matters, but it arrives too late for finance. Sponsors' finance teams, responsible for long-range, 1- and 3-year plans, need defensible numbers well before protocols are locked or contracts exist. Today, that means building a model from scratch for every new trial, or reaching for last year's spreadsheet from whatever past study looks closest, often stale or not quite comparable.

Atlas turns roughly 15 inputs into a study budget in under 10 minutes, drawing on proprietary, multi-source benchmark rates indexed by indication, phase, and region, as well as a sponsor's own historic study data, structured and made available for reuse for the first time. Teams can clone a plan, adjust site count or region, and compare scenarios side by side as assumptions shift.

For clinical operations, Atlas is being built to carry that same rigor forward into contracting: procedure- and visit-level assumptions, rather than a top-line average, with well over 100 inputs open to override — the same standard RFPs and CRO negotiations have always demanded.

Atlas is also designed to outlast the plan it builds. Auxilius's core platform already manages active studies once a trial is underway, tracking spend as enrollment runs ahead of or behind assumptions, sites activate late, protocols are amended, or a CRO underdelivers. Atlas hands off directly into that platform, so a study's plan gains precision as its protocol firms up and continues evolving once the trial starts, rather than going stale the moment reality diverges from it.
